Betable is a site dedicated entirely to betting. Rather than limit wagering capabilities to one specific sport or event, Betable lets the users come up with their own bets. By joining the Betable community, users can create their own specifically tailored bets and invite others to join in and make a wager. Tracking tools are available so that the bet’s creator can observe its progress and popularity. Betable was founded in 2008 by Christopher Griffin. At the time, Griffin wanted to come up with a new way to introduce betting to the virtual world. By bringing together numerous tools and building a community of users, Griffin managed to create a fun environment for users to make a bet. Betable also offered social networking features through member profiles and friend finder features as well as bet searches. Users can connect on topics they feel strongly about or have an interest in.

Betable offers something different in its atmosphere and flexibility for the user. The Betable website offers an attractive green and white color scheme with a stylish logo. The design is welcoming for new users. Visitors can easily navigate through the prominently placed links. The homepage features current bets so a new user can easily get in on the action or search for a bet on a topic they are interested in. The homepage listings include the topic as well as the total of the current pot so the user knows right away if they want to join in.

New users are provided two registration methods. The first works through an existing Facebook profile and can be performed by clicking the blue Facebook button beside the sign up link at the top right hand corner of the homepage. Users who wish to register without Facebook can either click the sign up link or the gold “sign me up” button, also found on the homepage. A pop up box will appear requesting a first and last name, email address, password, and gender.

Betable offers new visitors the chance to register for an account at no cost. This allows access to all existing bets and the bet creation tools. How much money a user spends on the site really depends on how much and how often they make a wager. New users are given a small amount of betting money to start with as a bonus for creating an account, however there does not appear to be a limit to how much can be wagered.

Anyone who loves games of chance and betting can really get into Betable. The site allows room for flexibility by giving the user total control over what bets are made. The betting system is also ideal for smaller bets, so the user does not feel pressured to risk a significant amount of money, which also further encourages participation. A small bet here and there could yield a much larger win should the user wind up making a wise choice when placing their wager!
